GoldenEye Reloaded Review

GoldenEye Reloaded - Time to save the world with MI5's top agent
Presentation
The menus may seem a bit daunting to the eyes at first but as soon as you play the game for a while, they'll get easier on the eyes. The graphical elements of this game is top notch in terms of adding the same atmospheric tone from 1995 James Bond movie starring Pierce Brosnan.

However, if you have played GoldenEye on the Wii, the HD scaling is quite less noticeable and the animations are pretty much the same with all of the cutscenes within the game.

Gameplay
It basically plays like a Bond version of a Call of Duty game, which isn't surprising really considering that the game is published by Activision. The story is pretty quick to complete, since I've gotten myself onto the last mission within 10 hours of playing the game and this is on the hardest difficulty setting, which is 007 Classic.

The side objectives can be time consuming to complete but are possible to do within your first run through the game on 007 Classic difficulty. The differences between 007 and 007 Classic difficulty if you haven't played the Wii version is that in 007 Classic, you don't recover your health and you have to look around for body armour to keep your health from depleting. There are quick time events in this game, which adds some fresh flavour to the Call of Duty-esqe gameplay that is with this game.

Features
The noticeable feature with this game is that there isn't any members of the original cast doing the voice-overs nor have any resemblance to looking like the original cast either. The story plays like a what would happen if Daniel Craig was James Bond in GoldenEye rather than keeping true to the original film. The only original cast member in the game is M, which is played by Dame Judy Dench and she only does the voice over in the mission debriefing rather than have her feed on how to do the missions.

Even though the cast and story feels different in places, they still keep the original film's trademark moments from driving a tank through St. Petersberg to knocking out the security guard in the toilet in the Arkhangel facility. The have added one new mode into the game, which is MI6 Ops mode, which if you played Call of Duty, you will notice that it is like Spec Ops but the only different thing is that you can adjust the parameters of the enemy troops and your health and weapons.

The campaign mode, which I mentioned before is practically identical to the Wii version of the game and it does play exactly the same as the Wii version in every way, especially the Trevelyan boss battle at the end of the final mission.

The achievements/trophies are pretty much mostly consist of offline achievements/trophies and a majority of them can be gained pretty easily but it depends on how well you do in first person shooters, which GoldenEye Reloaded is pretty much is.

Sound
The soundtrack is pretty much identical to the 1995 movie with the modern twist of the current Bond movies added into them. However, they didn't use Tina Turner's version of the GoldenEye theme but got Nicole Scherzinger singing the theme instead and it does sound very identical to Tina Turner's version.

The voice acting is very good, especially in the campaign mode but what drove me insane is the song choices in the Barcelona Nightclub mission, since they sounded like they're constantly on loop, which can be seen as annoying.
